  • Rosehip oil

    (Rosa moschate)
Rosehip oil is extremely rich in antioxidants.  It has high levels of essential fatty acids, which greatly benefit the skin through improved moisture retention, elasticity, and softness. It also contains beta-carotene, which is a key nutrient for maintaining healthy skin and assisting skin cell renewal and repair. Beta-carotene also helps to repair and protect the skin from various forms of sun damage. Rosehip is a rich source of Vitamin A (retinol) and Vitamin C.  Vitamin A is required for healthy skin cell regeneration and Vitamin C is necessary for the production of collagen an integral component of skin tissue, giving it strength and flexibility.  As we age our natural production of collagen diminishes. Rosehip oil has a similar pH balance to that of the oil produced by human sebaceous glands in the skin.  It is readily absorbed assisting in improved hydration and texture and is excellent for use on minor scarring.

    Calendula oil

    (Calendula officinalis)

Calendula has a long history of use in skincare due to its powerful anti-inflammatory, cicatrisant (regeneration of skin cells), soothing and calming properties.  It is said to tone the tissues and enhance blood supply.

    Chamomile Roman

    (Anthemis nobilis)

This is one of the most gentle of all essential oils.  The essential oil of Roman chamomile has both sedative and anti-inflammatory properties.  It’s aroma is both calming and soothing to the nerves and particularly beneficial in relieving stress and anxiety.  In skincare it is particularly useful for calming any irritation in sensitive skin.  Energetically Roman chamomile is harmonising, peaceful and soothing to the spirit.

    Lavender

    (Lavendula angustofolia)

Lavender has been used for centuries across many cultures for its soothing, calming and healing properties.  It is a powerful anti-inflammatory and antibacterial and is known for its skin cell regenerative (cicatrisant) properties.  Lavenders properties promote balance enhancing it’s suitability for all skin types.  The aroma of Lavender is calming and soothing to the mind, relieves stress and anxiety opening the door to new horizons.

    Rose

    (Rosa damascena/centifolia)

Ah the Rose!  No other flower has been so revered in ancient history, art, religion, literature and mythology than the Rose.  Known as the Queen of flowers, Rose appears in history throughout many cultures.  Rose is a symbol of great beauty, love, youth, perfection and immortality.  The essential oil, extracted from Rose flowers is one of the most precious and complex known, containing over 300 chemical constituents, many of which are still unidentified.

The aroma of true Rose oil has an intense psychological effect, immediately calming the nerves, soothing and opening the heart, improving circulation and lifting the spirit.

On the skin Rose oil has excellent emollient, softening and hydrating properties, whilst also possessing stimulating and antiseptic qualities.  It is perfect for all skin types, particularly sensitive, dry and mature skin.  Rose oil has a tonic and astringent effect on the skin and may be helpful in reducing broken capillaries, redness and inflammation.  Although Rose is often considered feminine, its powerful actions on mind body and spirit are of great benefit to both sexes.
